M-CEN

Marginalised Community Engagement Network

We are pleased to announce M-CEN is now up and running and ready to be accessed for all community engagement needs. Already working with a variety of different public and commercial bodies, the network is now available for a multitude of applications. The primary function of the network is for two-way community engagement on a partnership basis, which aids dissemination and collection of information. Currently working closely with the NIHR to constantly expand the network, both in quantity and diversity. The network is not only diverse in cultural ethnicity, it has a much broader spectrum including membership from groups with, disabilities, socio-economic disadvantages, these groups are from all ethnicities and are as equally marginalised.

The network is a partnership, as such must be mutually beneficial to all parties involved to succeed, for the community groups this is in the form of funding to use in sustaining and developing the groups further. Reducing health inequalities especially form within marginalised communities and addressing issues of equality in public engagement are amongst a number of big wins for the network users.
